G Hub is intended to provide the same functions as the existing Logitech Gaming Software, but with a more modern and intuitive interface that will work across all of Logitech’s gaming accessories. To cap things off, Logitech also said that it is providing early access to its new G Hub software.
Tactile vs clicky update#
The G512 with GX Blue switches will also be coming to Singapore, and I’ll update once they are available to buy. The latter is already available to buy locally at S$189 with the Romer-G Tactile or Linear switches. The new switches will make their debut on Logitech’s G512 keyboard. In comparison, the other Romer-G switches have a total travel distance of just 3.2mm. Overall, this switch is slightly heavier and needs a bit more distance to actuate.

It actuates within 1.5mm with a force of 45g. It also features a longer travel distance at 4mm. Optical Purple is a clicky and tactile switch.

Linear switches move up and down without noticeable tactile feedback or clicking noise. Its helpful if you prefer a distinct key indication every time. The GX Blue switch has a longer actuation distance than the other two switches, and each key press registers at 1.9mm instead of 1.5mm. With each keystroke, mechanical keyboards with clicky switches make a loud click noise and have a tactile sensation attached to them. This is only Logitech’s third switch option after the Romer-G Tactile and Linear switches, and it’ll appeal to gamers who want that distinctive ‘click’ sound when typing. Like the Cherry MX Blue switch, the GX Blue is both tactile and clicky, which means it offers a combination of tactile and auditory feedback with each key press. That said, Logitech only recently added a linear version of its tactile Romer-G switch, and it’s now introducing a clicky switch dubbed the GX Blue. I mean, just look at the selection of box switches available from the likes of Input Club, Kailh, and NovelKeys.

There’s a mind-boggling array of keyboard switches to choose from today. Logitech’s new GX Blue mechanical keyboard switch is both tactile and clicky
